I finished my contract with the Aston Hotel 2 months ago and the HR wanted to continue my contract, but I cut it off because I applied for another job which is giving me a more promising future. Yes, I did apply for Singapore Airlines again. I don't get discouraged easily, though I was booted out in the first round of the interview in April, I came back in June and thanks God, with all the efforts I put in and I am sure it's HIS plan, I passed the test as well as the final round.
I did my medical check-up a month ago and haven't been informed about the results up to today. According to the airlines, we would be called up for another medical check- up if we do not pass the medical requirements, however, if we are not asked to come back to the clinic, that means we are waiting for our work visa and be prepared to get a call to fly to SG to start our training.I don't know what's gonna happen with me though. Let's just pray for the best!
I was jobless for a few days after I quit from Aston and my final interview with the airlines, but my ex boss who is also my friend, wanted me to work for the school he runs. FYI. I did work for him back in 2005 for 3 years. I quit to pursue my career life in hotel industry. So, I started working again for the school in late August and time flies, it's almost end of September already.
My first project was to create questions for quizzes for high school levels and currently I am working on the English Premier Cup (EPC) 2010 & Education Expo which will be held a week before Halloween. It's a lot of fun to run around the town looking for sponsorship partners as well as visiting schools to encourage the students to join the competition.
A brief description on the competition is that students are competing in pairs, I know for all this time they may be lack of confidence when competing individually. Students will be seated for a-30-minute-written test and next is Talk Show Challenge, last but not least is Brain Challenge. We are also doing SMS Polling for the Talk Show Challenge - supported by Axis (one of the telecommunication provider in Indonesia) to choose their favorite team. I would definitely join this competition if I were still in high school. Organizing this competition is a true reminiscence to me of my high school life. I used to travel all the way to the capital of my province even the capital of Indonesia to compete with other students, my favorite one is English News Reading and Speech Competition. Good times!!
Tony, if you're reading this, I want you to know that I am enjoying my current job very much! Thanks for the opportunity and acknowledgement on my work.
For you who currently have a job, do you enjoy your job or it's just a way of killing the time?
